VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) in Reno, NV is seeking a full-time board certified/board eligible Geriatrician to work for the Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) service line. The service line offers skilled, rehabilitative, palliative and community based services provided by experienced interdisciplinary teams. The Geriatrician works with a team of health care professionals including nurse practitioners and fellows to care for our veterans in our skilled nursing facility, the Community Living Center (CLC). Practice with the Associate Chief of Staff, Geriatrics and Extended Care to ensure optimal operation and delivery of medical care, including hospice and home care. Certification in Hospice/Palliative and/or Geriatric Medicine is preferred. Role is mostly clinical with some administrative and teaching responsibilities. Position may be tailored to professional experience, interest and qualifications. Shared phone call.
Academic affiliations for VASNHCS are the University of Nevada School of Medicine and the East Bay Surgical Program at the University of California, San Francisco. Approximately 45 medical, surgical, psychiatry, geriatrics and palliative medicine residents and fellows annually rotate through VASNHCS.
