QuarterLine provides professional health care staffing services to military hospitals and health clinics across the United States. W e are currently seeking a full-time Internist - Cardiology at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Responsibilities:
The duties include but are not limited to the following:Routine Clinic:
Initial evaluation, consultation, and follow-up care including pacemaker clinics. Performance and interpretation of noninvasive cardiology evaluation including EKGs, holter monitors, treadmills, and echocardiographs. Follow and provide medical care for the internal medicine problems of cardiology patients. Performs transesophageal echocardiolgrams. Performs diagnostic cardiac catheterization. Subspecialists in Cardiology perform angioplasty, percutanous intervention of atherosclerotic disease, implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, electrophysiology studies and ablation of abnormal heart rhythms such as atrial fibrillation.
Inpatient Services:
Inpatient consultation services during normally scheduled hours of performance. Temporary pacemaker insertion. Participation in teaching programs which includes the following: Provide one-on-one instruction for adult nurse practitioner students, physician assistant interns, medical students, interns, and residents in the form of clinical rotations as requested by the Director of Education. Manages critically ill cardiac patients in the ICU Perform the following as the situation dictates: Consult with appropriate specialists. Write initial admission orders. Utilize paraprofessionals as appropriate. Respond to and provide management of cardiopulmonary arrests. Interpret: electrocardiograms, exercise stress tests, holter monitor tests and cardiac monitoring. Perform and interpret echocardiograms. Provide basic radiographic interpretation. Perform arterial puncture. Infiltration of local anesthesia. Performance of closed cardiac massage. Emergency: endotracheal intubation, cardioversion, and cricothyrotomy airway. Prescribe and administer drugs The Internist - Cardiology will generally work between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
Certification. Current board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology.
