Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 05/13/2013Available Shifts: 8 H! our/Day
This outpatient clinic is in need of a primary care physician to provide services for approximately three months, or until a permanent candidate can be identified. The physician would need to start as soon as credentialing and privileging can be completed. Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
Required Qualifications
The physician shall be either Board Cert! ified or Board Eligible in Family Practice or Internal Medicin! e. An active basic life support certification is required prior to the start date.
