Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic physician to provide excellent patient care and participate in our important mission of teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and pharmacy students. The incumbent will practice Endocrinology medicine at inpatient and outpatient sites. As a new faculty member, you will also represent the department by serving on committees, which may include departmental committees, School of Medicine committees, or hospital committees.
This position will have a portion of time spent in outpatient care and will require hospital coverage of a Endocrinology consultation service. Incumbents must be adaptable, embrace! a teamwork approach, and be an effective teacher and communic! ator.
The Department of Internal Medicine in Las Vegas is responsible for the training of approximately 52 Internal Medicine residents in a three-year categorical program. The program is affiliated with University Medical Center (UMC), which offers a comprehensive mix of inpatient and ambulatory teaching experiences. The departmentâs goal is to ensure that each resident possesses the knowledge, procedural skills, critical thinking, and professionalism required to succeed as a general internist or future sub-specialist.
The small size of our program makes for a more flexible and friendly environment. Although this is a University program with a strong didactic tradition, the atmosphere here is relaxed and informal. We have a diverse patient population that is unparalleled as well as great hospital ancillary services to help care for our patients. This position is located in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada, which enjoys an average of 293 days of sunshine a year and if you seek outdoor adventure, Red Rock Canyon features hiking trails, a 13-mile scenic drive and a Visitorâs Center. Required Qualifications:
MD or DO degree or equivalent degree, completion of an Internal Medicine Residency program from an ACGME accredited institution and Endocrinology Fellowship training completed prior to the start date.
Clinical patient care experience in the United States.
Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, malpractice insurance, and meet credentialing requirements.
