The VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System is seeking an academic internist who is board certified in Internal Medicine. The physician will function as a member of the inter-disciplinary team providing clinical care to patients in an inpatient setting. As an attending physician, the responsibilities include providing medical evaluation and directing overall management of patients in collaboration with other members of the health care team. If desired, opportunity for outpatient work may be available. The incumbent is responsible for the supervision and education of Internal Medicine Residents and medical students from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Internal Medicine consultation requested from other services would be provided by the medical! resident under the supervision of the incumbent. Support from pulmonar! y/crucial care, cardiology, neurology, and other medical and surgical specialties is available on a 24/7 basis.

Work Schedule: Full-Time QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Physical Requirements: In the process of providing patient care, the work involves regular and recurring periods of walking, standing, sitting, bending, pulling, lifting, reaching and carrying. Manual dexterity is required to operate medical equipment and perform activities such as surgery, treatments and computerized medical record documentation.
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following:
Basic Requirements:
Must be proficient in written and spoken English
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree re! sulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
