For complete informations about this vacancy opportunity kindly see the descriptions. The University of Nevada School of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine is seeking two General Internists. The successful incumbents will supervise internal medicine residents on inpatient medical service, ambulatory setting and engage in didactic teaching of students and residents. Further, the faculty members will maintain a practice of internal medicine in which he or she directly delivers care to internal medicine patients, attend on the inpatient medical service and devote time to scholarly activities. ! This will include clinical scholarship, mentoring residents in! the production of abstracts, and case reports. For those qualified and interested, opportunities in clinical research will be provided.
Candidates will need to have knowledge of Internal Medicine care and practice as well as experience in teaching patient care and the ability to manage and prioritize patient care and educational activities.
Reporting to the Department Chair of Internal Medicine, the incumbents will engage in the independent practice of medicine. The successful performance of job duties as described above are crucial for departmental success in education and patient care, and for school success in education.
When the University of Nevada School of Medicine was chartered in 1969, its mission was training and providing primary care doctors for Nevadaâs rural communities. The Department of Internal Medicine in Las Vegas is responsible for the training of approximately 71 Internal Medicine residents. The program is affiliated with University Medical Center ( UMC ) and offers a comprehensive mix of inpatient and ambulatory teaching experiences. The departmentâs goal is to ensure that each resident possesses the knowledge, procedural skills, critical thinking and professionalism required to succeed as a general internist or future sub-specialist. The small size of our program makes for a more flexible and friendly environment. We have a dive! rse patient population that is unparalleled as well as great hospital a! ncillary services to help care for our patients.

Required Qualifications
M.D., D.O. or equivalent medical degree.
Must have completed ACGME -approved Internal Medicine Residency Program prior to the start date.
BC/BE within two (2) years of graduation from an ACGME -approved internal medicine residency program (with a strong likelihood of board certification based on academic record).
Candidat! es must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, malpractice insurance, and must be able to be successfully credentialed by designated hospitals.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supervising residents and/or students in medical education desirable.
Experience in a municipal hospital and demonstrated teaching experience and ability are highly desirable.
