We are seeking a dynamic physician to provide excellent patient care and participate in our important mission of te! aching medical students, residents, fellows, and pharmacy students. The incumbent will practice in the field of Neurology with a large focus on Epileptology, and this care will be provided at our inpatient and outpatient site locations. As a new faculty member, you will also represent the department by serving on committees, which may include departmental committees, School of Medicine committees or hospital committees.
This position will have a portion of time spent in outpatient care and will be required to provide hospital coverage for the Neurology consultation service. Incumbents must be adaptable, embrace a teamwork approach, and be an effective teacher and communicator.
The Department of Internal Medicine in Las Vegas is responsible for the training of approximately 60 Internal Medicine residents in a three-year categorical program. Our program is affiliated with University Medical Center (UMC) and offers a comprehensive mix of inpatient and ambulatory teachi! ng experiences. Of our departmental goal is to ensure that eac! h resident possesses the knowledge, procedural skills, critical thinking, and professionalism required to succeed as a general internist or future sub-specialist.The small size of our program makes for a more flexible and friendly environment. Although this is a University program with a strong didactic tradition, the atmosphere here is relaxed and informal. We have a diverse patient population that is unparalleled as well as great hospital ancillary services to help care for our patients.
