QuarterLine provides professional health care staffing services to military hospitals and health clinics across the United States. We are currently seeking a full-time Internist-Endocrinology at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Responsibilities:
The duties include but are not limited to the following:
Diagnose and treat endocrine and metabolic disorders in adult patients (18 years of age and older) by reviewing clinical records, taking complete case histories and performing thorough physical examinations. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (e.g. thyroid fine needle aspiration [if qualified]) and interpret diagnostic test results, including imaging studies and clinical laboratory tests. Interpret DXA scan reports for patients referred to our clinic for this service. Prescribe treatment for endocrine and metabolic disorders. Therapies prescribed may include, but are limited to, medications, nutritional therapy, and infusion therapies. Refer patients for necessary diagnostic/surgical evaluations, as clinically appropriate. Formulate plans and procedures for endocrinology services. Advises on type and quantity of supplies and equipment. Coordinates endocrinology services with other medical activities. For example, instructs interns and residents, when applicable, in procedures and methods of internal medicines. Works closely with Certified Diabetes Educator Inpatient Services (when applicable) Provides inpatient endocrinology services during normally scheduled hours of performance, to include on-call hours when applicable. Participation in teaching programs, when applicable. Provide instruction for adult nurse practitioner students, physician assistant interns, medical students, interns, and residents in the form of clinical rotations as requested. Consult with appropriate specialists. Write initial admission orders. Prescribe and administer drugs. The Internist-Endocrinology will generally work between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:
Certification. Current board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology. Residency. Completion of a residency or fellowship in internal medicine acceptable to the Surgeon General, USAF. Completion of an additional residency or fellowship program in Endocrinology acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF.

Must possess knowledge in the following:
Must be capable of performing the full range of Endocrinology services. The following experience is mandatory: Interpretation of dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan reports. Interpretation of continuous glucose monitoring. Interpretation of insulin pump printouts. Interpretation of dynamic endocrine testing. Must be capable of performing the full range of cardiology services.
