ROLE of the POSITION
We are seeking a non-tenure track General Internist to join our team. If you are a leader, we are looking for an Associate Program Director for the Residency Program. Supervision and teaching trainees in the clinical setting, during didactics, and mentorship are integral to the academic mission of the division. The Internal Medicine residency program is responsible for training approximately 72 residents and has an excellent track record with Internal Medicine board pass rates.
The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of scholarly activities. This will include mentoring residents on investigator-initiated projects and case reports. Qualified candidates interested in research will have opportunities for collaboration within the school and partnering institutions.

About the School of Medicine
The UNLV School of Medicine is creating a world-class center for medical education, patient care, and research that prepares Nevada's physicians with the most innovative and technologically advanced forms of medical training while serving the health care needs of a diverse population through community partnerships. Our main objective is to attract, educate, and retain doctors committed to practicing in Las Vegas, Nevada. UNLV School of Medicine will be the first public allopathic medical school in Las Vegas, Nevada. The medical school was officially established Aug. 22, 2014. In 2015, Gov. Brian Sandoval and the Nevada legislature approved more than $27 million in startup funds to help the school meet its deadline of welcoming its charter class of 60 students in summer of 2017. The medical school is on track to meet this goal. Last year, it raised funds to cover full, four-year scholarships for its entire charter class of 60 students, plus 25 each for the next three entering class.

QUALIFICATIONS
If applicable for clinical appointments: The successful candidate is expected to have an M.D. degree, D.O. or equivalent and completion of ACGME accredited residency program. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine, prior to employment commencing. If board eligible, certification must be completed within the first two years of employment. Candidates must be eligible for a Nevada medical license, malpractice coverage and meet credentialing requirements and must be able to obtain admitting privileges at applicable hospitals and/or clinics. Finalist must possess and maintain a State Board of Pharmacy license and DEA license and may be subject to a background check.
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
